I downloaded MS Office using Limewire PRO on my newer computer earlier today and successfully extracted the file but it ask me after that what program am I going to use to open up the file??? :icon_conf I tried several different programs and it wouldn't open. Should I download a different type of file or what could I possibly be doing wrong?

Still not working :icon_conf I installed Winzip and it even ran as if it was unzipping the file but when I click on the icon after it was done, it was asking me the same question as before: open up file with option. I put in Winzip and it still doesn't work.

Wow....never heard of that before. If it's nothing personal, you can email it to me at TTinCO @therx.com & I'd think that I'd be able to unzip it & send you back the unzipped files.

Interesting situation......I'm a little suspicious of the file maybe being a virus, but that's just a guess.

TT, I tried to email the attachment last night but I got a message stating that it was too large. So just to make sure it's nothing I'm doing wrong. I downloaded the zip file. Used WinZip to unzip the file. After it is unzip I should be able to use the program and it shouldn't be asking me "open up with what program"

Did you scan the file for viruses?

If I were you I would scan the file and do a full system scan on your PC... I would then (if no virus) Get rid of all the files that you d/l'd and try another source from Limewire , sounds like some files or somthing is missing from your d/l or just a bad d/l...

G2G, open winzip & then search for the file within Winzip & try opening it. It doesn't make any sense, but it doesn't sound like zip files got associated with Winzip when it was installed.

Even if Winzip is not the associated app for your .zip files it should still be able to open that file or any other compressed file. Sounds like you have a corrupt file... take previous advice and try to download file again, probably by another means or or site location. Are you sure it is not asking for a password or key# of some sorts? I have seen this b4 meaning that it will not begin the actual extraction process til it gets password verification.

Most likely is an RAR file.

For which you will need a program that can extract the RAR to decode the files.

Do a search on google for RAR program.
